Stay Safe

While crime rates in West Broadway are on the decline, it is always a good idea to keep some safety tips in mind when visiting or moving into a new area. West Broadway’s struggle with safety has had a lot to do with perception rather than reality, and many efforts have been made in recent years to improve the overall image.

  • Dial 911 for emergency situations
  • There are several walk-in health clinics on Broadway & Sherbrook Street
  • Do not leave valuables in your parked car, and park in a well lit area
  • Be alert and prepared when walking at night, plan a safe route
  • Avoid walking alone after dark and travel on well lit streets
  • If faced with a robbery, choose personal safety over the safety of belongings
  • Be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts. Do not feel embarrassed to leave an uncomfortable situation
  • Always lock up your bike, know your serial number and register your bike
  • When seeking directions stop into a nearby business
